Walk Across Williamson Challenge
The annual Walk Across Williamson Challenge is back for its ninth year with an all-new 5K Run/Walk for students, parents and teachers to enjoy. Individual schools may create their own team and train together at their school location. In addition, there will be a Senior 1-Mile Run/Walk and a Kids 1-Mile Fun Run. The first 1,000 runners to register for the race will be chip timed.
Staff and students will be tracking their activity during the month of March with the goal of walking across Williamson County, which is the equivalent of 1,800 minutes of physical activity. From March 1 – 31, 2017, we would like our students and their families (ages 4 and up) to record, each day, the number of minutes they are physically active, including time spent at PE, participating in after-school activities, workouts in the gym, or engaging in active free play with your family. Please turn in forms to school by April 3, 2017.
Coordinated School Health will award mini grants to schools based on participation and activity minutes.
