Use of the Internet and Intranet:  The Board supports the right of staff and students to have reasonable access to various information formats and believes that it is incumbent upon staff and students to use this privilege in an appropriate and responsible manner. Complaints alleging a violation of the internet safety measures shall be submitted to the FSD Associate Director of Teaching and Learning.

The information below should provide answers to questions you might have as your student accesses his/her online resources:

• Clever Login information
• If a student needs their Google password reset, a parent/guardian may email the Instructional Technology Department. The student’s name and grade level will be needed in this communication.
• If a Chromebook needs to be repaired, a parent/guardian may email their child’s principal and include the student’s name, the Chromebook’s TZ number (located on the metal tag on the front of the device), and explain what is not working properly. That information will be sent to the Technology Department, who will then follow up with the parent.

Textbook Adoption Information

The State Textbook Commission is responsible for recommending an official list of textbooks to the Tennessee State Board of Education (SBOE) for approval. Once the SBOE has approved a list of textbooks, it is the responsibility of local boards of education to decide which textbooks to use in their districts.

The state textbook adoption process is administered in accordance with the statutory requirements as outlined in Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, Chapter 6, Part 22, and the Rules and Policies of the State Textbook and Instructional Materials Quality Commission. Once the local districts are provided with the list of state-approved vendors, local school systems must adopt books on the official list or submit a waiver request to the department to use textbooks or instructional materials not on the approved list.
